About us

Isn’t it the subtle nuances that make the difference? An attentive look, an honest smile, the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning – small gestures that make everyday life easier and special moments more precious. It’s not the big promises, but the loving details that remain.

And that applies to holidays, too. At La Val Hotel & Spa, we understand that hospitality is the art of attentiveness. You can look forward to the attentive service of a 4-star superior hotel, regional cuisinewith an international twist, and an atmosphere that combines tranquillity, style, and warmth. We offer many small extras that will enrich your stay – unobtrusive, personalised, and with an eye for the small, subtle touches that make a big difference.

Our vision and values

As the director of La Val Hotel & Spa, it’s my personal mission to create a place where people can find peace and tranquillity – in an honest, unpretentious, and sophisticated setting. Our vision is not a loud promise, but a silent attitude: we want to give our guests the gift of time. Time to settle in, take a deep breath, and enjoy their stay to the fullest.

People are at the centre of everything we do – both as guests and as part of our team. Appreciation, reliability, and genuine attention characterise our everyday life. We believe in tangible quality: in treating each other with respect, in attentive service, in architecture that reflects the Surselva region, and in the conscious selection of regional resources.

La Val Hotel & Spa aims to be a place that is modern in its thinking yet deeply rooted in tradition. A warm and welcoming hotel, run by people who take pride in their work, bringing experience and responsibility to a fine establishment built on appreciation and education.

All that brings to life something that’s close to our hearts: a refuge that does not seek to impress, but which makes a natural impact.

Stephanie Kern

Our philosophy – focus on people

At La Val Hotel & Spa, people take centre stage – as guests and as part of the team. Our aim is to provide service that isn’t loud, but precise: attentive, approachable, and characterised by genuine hospitality. We believe that true quality is created where people with experience, passion, and joy work together. Many of our employees have been part of our team for years – their solidarity and knowledge characterise La Val Hotel & Spa just as much as the mountain world that surrounds us.

Every detail, from the first smile at check-in to the perfectly laid table, should make it clear what’s important to us: a place where guests feel understood and employees can grow. Modern, warm, reliable – this is how we live our philosophy.

Design – Alpine aesthetics with vision

La Val Hotel & Spa embodies a design that breathes the spirit of the Surselva region while making conscious use of its resources. Warm materials such as regional wood and Vals stone create an atmosphere that’s both modern and deeply rooted in nature. Sustainability isn’t a trend here, but an attitude: short transport routes, natural raw materials, and careful use of what the region has to offer.

In the lobby, the open fire provides stylish cosiness, in the restaurant, the wall-integrated fire radiates warmth and character. Generous window fronts open up a 360-degree mountain view that makes the landscape part of the interior – and reminds us why we protect it.

Every line, every surface, and every room follows a clear standard: we don’t want to show nature, but to make it tangible. The result is an ambience that’s timeless, authentic, and responsibly designed – a concept that reflects and preserves the Surselva region.
